Prague 8: The story of a forgotten place ends! Or is it just beginning?
20.06.2022 20:27 | Press Release
After nine years of efforts by the Deputy Mayor of Prague 8, Jiří Vítek (Patriots), the Bohnice Cemetery has belonged to the Prague 8 district since today.
This was confirmed by the signing of the handover protocol by the director of the state property management department of the UZSVM, Ivana Kubíčková, and the councilor of Prague 8 for property, Tomáš Slabihoudek (TOP 09). Signed, stamped, logged!
The handover of one of the most mysterious places in the Czech Republic, the Bohnice Cemetery, between the state and the city district took place shortly after noon today, right on the cemetery grounds. If we weren’t there, we probably wouldn’t have believed it, but it happened. Just as the protocol was signed, it began to thunder and a light rain began, which stopped after a while. The mysterious place has confirmed its reputation. And what will happen to this mysterious place? The city district of Prague 8 is interested in repairing this historically significant space into a dignified place of reverence and at the same time making it accessible to the public.
At the same time leave the place of its mystique and character. The first step is to repair the entrance gate and security work to ensure security.
