An unusual trash-art exhibition opened in the heart of Budapest
Visitors to Király utca can find a special art installation. Three young artists from the Converse All Stars team, tattoo artist Fanni Pólus, fashion designer-visual artist Flóra Poprádi and photographer-cameraman Matthias Ulz, took on a small task: they covered an entire building with a monumental montage.
“Walls were laid with positive thoughts, honesty”
Emerging young talents locked together for 10 days, unique montages made of used molinos, building nets, and capped bottles and empty bottles in the courtyard of an abandoned building at Király utca 11. The works covering the old wall parts color the neighborhood of the Gozsdu courtyard as part of a free exhibition.
The work could not have been created without the training of Ede Sinkovics: the internationally recognized trash-art is the work of the Converse All Stars, and he himself was involved in the creative process.
“It’s always good to have some enthusiastic young people who aren’t afraid of a new challenge. He undertakes to be able to create value and connect with other creators through his work. The artists at Converse Create Next have laid walls with great, positive thoughts and honesty. And the icing on the cake is that I can once again lead talented young people in an upcycling, sustainable workshop. ” Said Ede Sinkovics.
The uninhabited house that has been chosen as the venue for the exhibition is right in the heart of the party district. The ruined building’s courtyard hides in the district’s cultural center, making a team of young artists feel this will be the right place to create a cultural oasis. The courtyard of the K11 center and the building’s empty street-front shop windows provided the perfect venue for young creators to show they can create value from old, worn-out things.
