Rome, € 11 million from the municipality to carry out four urban redevelopment projects
Rome: the city council has approved 4 technical-economic feasibility projects, for a total amount of approximately 11 million eurosconcerning the demolition and reconstruction of the Pegaso Kindergarten and Ilaria Alpi Bridge, the redevelopment of the Flower market and extraordinary maintenance works of the “Alberto Sordi” School in via Taggia.
The Capitoline City Council has given the green light for the four restoration projects of the urban fabric
The transition to the Executive Committee is functional to the inclusion of these projects in the 2022-2024 Investment Plan.
In detail, for the “Alberto Sordi” Comprehensive Institute in via Taggia (XIV Town Hall, Torrevecchia area), also damaged by a fire in recent months, the extraordinary maintenance works will mainly concern the rehabilitation and energy requalification of the building with the construction of systems and structures, the construction of flooring, false ceilings and electrical systems , the assembly of a new elevator and energy-saving fixtures, the arrangement of the outdoor areas and the gym. This is the second phase of the intervention for an estimated cost of approximately 4.4 million euros (the first phase concerned the seismic retrofitting).
As for the Flower and Ornamental Plants Market in via Trionfale (I Municipio) the estimated expenditure is over 3.5 million euros. Following an inspection carried out last February, degradation situations were found inside and outside the building. The interventions will mainly concern the waterproofing of the roof, the overhaul of the systems, the rehabilitation of the structural elements (beams and pillars), the replacement of the fixtures and the adaptation of the premises to the current legislation, also using low-impact techniques.
The Pegaso Kindergarten, located in Acilia (X Town Hall) will be demolished and rebuilt. The building, closed in 2012 due to precarious maintenance and sanitary conditions, is in a state of serious neglect. The intervention, at a cost of approximately 2.4 million euros, involves the total demolition of the structure and the reclamation of the area, the construction of a new building and all the necessary systems, the installation of photovoltaic panels and the arrangement of outdoor spaces with the installation of turf and new flooring. Preliminary geological, hydrogeological and archaeological investigations are also planned.
Finally, also the wooden pedestrian bridge “Ilaria Alpi”, located in the Tor Sapienza district (V Municipio) will be demolished and rebuilt thanks to a loan of 617 thousand euros. The structure, in a state of decay due to the lack of advanced maintenance, does not allow the safe transit of pedestrians. The demolition and reconstruction work is as high as the costs for the necessary consolidation and adaptation interventions.
