ICE HL: market movements
The 14 teams that will compete in the ICEHL 2022/2023 begin to prepare the rosters; below are the first market movements.
ASIAGO
At the moment the last entry in the League has confirmed Gianluca Vallini and Steven Iacobellis; Justin Fazio arrived from Bolzano, while Daniel Mantenuto and Cameron Ginnetti did the opposite.
BLACK WINGS LINZ
The team from the capital of Upper Austria wants to redeem the dull last season and, in addition to the return of Lebler (who won the title with Salzburg), the Black Wings will be able to count on Logan Roe (from Vasteras), Rasmus Tirronen (from Fehervar ) and former KACs Martin Schumnig and Dennis Sticha. Martin Stajnoch (at HK Dukla Michalovce) and Andris Dzerins (at Hering Blue Fox) leave the team.
CAPITALS OF BRATISLAVA
The Slovakian team, which abandoned last season following the tragic deaths of player Boris Sadecky and GM Dusan Pasek Jr., is back at the starting line of the ICEHL with a roster still to be built.
EC RED BULL SALZBURG
Reigning league champions lose Jakub Borzecki (to Dusseldorfer EG), Layne Viveiros (to Vienna Capitals), Maximilian Rebernig (to Villach), Alexander pallestrang (to Pioneers Vorarlberg) and TJ Brennan (to HC Ajoie), but roster Tyler Lewington (from Providence Bruins), Troy Bourque (from Karpat) and David Kickert (from Vienna Capitals).
CE KAC
One of the big disappointments of the last season for the moment is working on the front of contract extensions; at the moment the renewals of Daniel Obersteiner, Val Usnik, Florian Vorauer, Steven Strong, Nikolaus Kraus, Kele Steffler, Clemens Unterweger and Rok Ticar are confirmed.
FEHERVAR AV19
The reigning vice champions, after the confirmations of Gleason Fournier, Alex Petan, Andrew Sarauer and Csanad Erdely, sign Patrick Newell (from Stjernen Hockey), Andrew O’Brien (from EHC Munchen), while Brady Shaw (in Innsbruck ) and Daniel Kornakker (MAC HKB Ujbuda) have left the Hungarian association.
GRAZ 99ERS
The Styrian team, after the confirmations of Kevin Pesendorfer, Clemens Krainz, Philipp Maurere Jacob Pfeffer, welcomes Sam Antonitsch (from Dornbirn) and Daniel Woger (from Thurgau) to the roster but loses Carl Ackered (at Slovan Bratislava) and Joey Martin (ai Cardiff Devils).
HC BOLZANO
The patron of the foxes, at the end of the very disappointing season that saw the red and white fail to hit the post-season goal, made a clean sweep, rebuilding the team in a reasoned way; confirmed Mike Halmo, Dustin Gazley, Dominic Alberga, Daniel Frank and, today’s news, Andreas Bernard, re-embraced Dylan Di Perna (last season on loan at Renon), the red and white greet Brett Findlay (in Fehervar), Mathew Maione (at the Bietigheim Steelers ) and Justin Fazio (in Asiago) and welcome Daniel Mantenuto and Cameron Ginnetti (both from Asiago) and Matt Frattin (from Barys Nur-Sultan).
HC INNSBRUCK
As for the Tyrolean “Haie”, the farewells of Zach Magwood (at Krefeld Pinguine) and Ben Betker (at Fehervar) are answered with confirmations from Simon Bourque and Daniel Leavens, while Tyler Cuma (from Dornbirn), Jamal Watson arrive (from Guildford Flames), Tyler Coulter (from Stjernen Hockey) and Brady Shaw (from Fehervar).
HK OLIMPIJA LJUBLJANA
The Slovenians, who will enjoy a wild-card ”to participate in the CHL, are betting heavily on some targeted grafts such as Charles Dodero (American International College) and Carl Neill (from Kolner Haie); greets Miha Logar (at HDD Jesenice), while Aljosa Crnovic, Jaka Sturm, Luka Kolin, Aleksandar Magovac and Tine Klofutar confirm.
VORARLBERG PIONEERS
The team born this spring from the merger between VEU Feldkirch and Dornbirn EC, begins to build the roster by fishing from the two previous teams (4 from Feldkirch: Niklas Gehringer, Alex Caffi, Yannik Lebeda, Tobias Reinbacher and 2 from Dornbirn: Marcel Zitz and Kevin Macierzynski ) to then insert Alexander Pallestrang (from Salzburg) and Lukas Goggl (from Bregenzerwald).
HC VAL PUSTERIA
The “Wolves of Pusteria” will try to confirm, if not improve, the good results of the last season; Zach Budish (unknown dest.), Shane Hanna (HKM Zvolen) and Max Gerlach (HC Presov) greet the team from Pusteria who, in addition to the confirmations of Simon Berger, Matthias Mantinger and Ivan Deluca, insert a Daniel Catenacci roster (from Bolzano), Marc-Olivier Roy (from BIK Karlskoga and Olivier Archambault (from Trois-Rivieres Lions).
VIENNA CAPITALS
The Capitals, greeted Matt Prapavessis (at Angers) and David Kickert (in Salzburg), put on contract Layne Viveiros (from Salzburg), Mark Auk (from Odense Bulldogs), Nico Brunner (from Villach) and Marcus Power (from Newfoundland Growlers) and confirm both Dominic Hackl and Mario Fischer.
VILLACHER SV
Big changes also in the VSV house! Andreas Bernard (in Bolzano), Scott Kosmachuck (at TPS), Nico Brunner (at Vienna Capitals) and Renars Krastenbergs (dest. Unknown) leave Carinthia, while Tim Geifes (from South Shore Kings) arrives in Villach and renews Philipp Lindner.
