An unusual chase in Prague, the men on the run in the Vltava were caught by police officers on a pedal boat
In action movies, it happens that police officers use a means of transport that is immediately available when pursuing criminals, which its owner must tolerate in the same law. In grotesques, they sometimes fail to catch the perpetrators for various comic reasons. The Prague Guard of Law Enforcers then connected elements of both genres in a sharp deployment.
The incident happened on Wednesday around noon near Žofín near Slovanský ostrov, where police officers called witnesses due to a rioter who was to be reported aggressive to the people.
When the police tracked down the suspect and wanted to detain him, he jumped in front of them on the Vltava and tried to swim.
“The men of the law took advantage of the fact that a man on a pedal boat was nearby at the time, asked him to cooperate and began to chase the swimmers. Anyone who has ever ridden a pedal boat will probably admit that it is not exactly the most agile machine and the swimmer therefore had more maneuverability for a while, quickly changed the direction of swimming and failed to catch him, “said Jan Daněk, a police spokesman, on Sunday.
Another man, who was nearby with a speedboat, helped take the pursuit.

“The swimmer didn’t have a chance anymore, the police jumped into the water for him, they managed to pacify him, pull him onto the boat and then ashore. The foreigner subsequently ended up in the hospital because he had an epileptic seizure, “the spokesman said, adding that when the doctors released him, the police would deal with him both his actions before the arrival of the patrol and the next attempt to swim.
