Brescia. The president of the Brescia city council Roberto Cammarata will be ambassador of peace for the city of Brescia, on a trip that will take him first to Vienna and then to the Balkans, to participate in two disunions, from 20 to 26 June.
The initial stop will be the Austrian capital, at the first conference of the States parties of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons of the United Nations to be held in Vienna from 21 to 23 June. Although a good number of European states, including Italy, have not yet adopted or ratified the treaty, the conference will welcome all national delegations wishing to engage in meaningful dialogue. Cammarata will speak on Tuesday 21 June both as a consequence of the commitments undertaken with the Peace Festival, and as a representative of the organizations and institutions that adhere to the campaign Italy, think again. An important step, which underlines a clear position of our city on this issue, given that the civil society of Brescia, the municipality of Brescia and numerous local authorities in our province (which sees the presence of nuclear bombs in the Ghedi-La Torre air force base ), are the campaign.
The mission then continues to Sarajevo, where Cammarata will participate in the first trip study on the Balkan route of Brescia institutional public administrators, meeting institutional realities and society, talking with them, with the aim of deepening the phenomenon of migration along this route, but also of bringing the civil solidarity of the institutions and associations of Bres. There will be representatives of the Third sector and of 9 Brescia municipalities, from the capital to Roncadelle, San Felice del Benaco, Collebeato, Passirano, Cevo, Bovezzo, Ome. A meeting is planned with the Italian ambassador in Sarajevo, Marco Di Ruzza.
The role of ambassador of peace and the presence of the president at these initiatives are strictly connected to the commitment made in the organization of the Peace Festivalwhich will reach its fifth edition this year, enriching each year with ideas and collaborations, and the great attention that has always been dedicated to these issues.
