In its current Transport Service Plan, the Ministry of Transport addresses as one of the options for long-distance transport from the eastern part of the republic to end and start trains at the airport or in Kladno. This is a common model in many countries. In Geneva, for example, a number of long-distance services start at the airport as well as at Copenhagen airport.
The material states that it is appropriate to consider connecting the airport and Kladno to long-distance rail transport. Passengers from more distant places dropped out in Prague. “Direct train management to the airport or to Kladno would not serve to serve these places for trips to Prague, but should find benefits in covering the demand for travel to these two destinations from remote areas of the Czech Republic east of Prague,” the text states .
Prague will borrow over 22 billion crowns. They will go to the construction of metro D
The authors of the document point out that Kladno is the largest city in Central Bohemia, which has direct connections with Prague and surrounding cities, but nowhere else.
Relief from turnovers at the Prague hub
The proposal also proposes another benefit: the turnover of one or two long-distance lines would free up the already insufficient capacity of the Prague node. “In the prospective state, among the links ending in the Prague node, those from the east predominate, and finding them or finding a suitable combination of lines for transit is a significant complication,” the authors of the text write. For easier connection, it is also necessary to adapt the line in Prague for connection to the airport. So far, this is only possible via the Negrelli Viaduct and outside Central Station.
“The Ministry of Transport intends to apply such a requirement in the future preparation of a feasibility study of the Prague Railway Hub, while the real feasibility of the idea of serving Kladno or Václav Havel Airport by selected long-distance trains depends on the technical and economic feasibility of such a plan,” the ministry plans.

It is a material that contains a large number of sentences in the conditioning method. One of the conditions is the completion of railway construction. “With regard to the distant time horizon, a number of other, especially small, plans will certainly emerge, which will contribute to the development of the offer of long-distance and regional transport. This horizon can be defined as the period after 2035, but it will always depend on the date of completion of the construction, in the case of an optimistic scenario of a very favorable development of construction preparation, the construction can be completed as early as 2032. “states in the text.
