The regions will not close the assistance centers for refugees, they criticize Prague
Before the 14th day when Prague announced its intention to close its KACPU, the governor of the Pardubice region, Martin Netolický (ČSSD), made a sharply dissenting opinion. He also mentioned the possibility that Pardubice is behaving similarly.
It is no longer so categorical. However, I still do not agree with Prague’s position.
Even because in the case of the closure of the center in the capital, the Pardubice region is the last railway station in front of Prague. Therefore, an increase in the onset can be expected here. “It simply came to our notice then. As regions, we always try to hold a certain consensus, even if we have different opinions, “Netolický told Práva.
South Bohemia: change only on weekends
According to Pilsen President Rudolf Špoták (Pirates), Prague’s move will mean more confusion for refugees. “Closing the regional assistance center in Prague will not help. There is just more confusion. If the refugees want to stay there, no one will be forced to leave. They will only have a more complicated route and individual places such as the foreigner police, the insurance company, the labor office and others will have to go around separately, “said Špoták. He added that they definitely do not intend to close the center in Pilsen.
According to President Petr Kulhánek (for STAN), the Karlovy Vary region is not considering closing the center, and at least until the end of June. “The numbers of arrivals are still the same,” said the governor, adding that there are tens of refugees a day. The South Bohemian Region also does not intend to close the refugee center in Planá near České Budějovice, the change is planned only on weekends. “We will close and stay on weekends. We also have to count on the possibility of emergency accommodation on weekends, “Governor Martin Kuba (ODS) told Práva.
Vondrak: It’s unfair
The move of Prague is also sharply criticized by the South Moravian Governor Jan Grolich (KDU-ČSL). “Our assistance center Ukraine will be in operation as long as necessary. I perceive Prague’s move as very bad and unsystematic. There is no point in closing the most significant centers in the Czech Republic, “Grolich told Práva. Prague will certainly not be followed by the Olomouc region, although there are only a few dozen people who use its center now.
“I think you need to look cool. Closing the center at this time would not help. People don’t come here because we have a center open here, but because they need help, “the governor of Olomouc, Josef Suchánek (pirates and STAN), told Práva in Olomouc.
“Moving the processes that are at the center of help elsewhere is not the answer. The refugee service would still have to be done by someone, “remarked the governor. “It is clear that the centers will ever close down. The theme hangs in the air. However, this should happen after some agreement, at least in the council of the Association of Regions, “added Suchánek.
Moravian-Silesian Governor Ivo Vondrák (YES) considers the closure of the Prague center to be nothing and is not going to do anything like that. “The more such help centers you close, the more people you have to hire in other help centers. You just have to handle that number in some way. The moment others join in, there will be a situation where those people get off the train and have nowhere to go. What will happen? They will wander around the city, which is desirable in my opinion, “Vondrák pointed out.
“We don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel yet, because even though it only takes 73 people a day, it’s still people who need help, they need accommodation. And I can’t imagine getting off the train and not knowing where to go. Here it is necessary to maintain a kind of principle of solidarity towards all, “said Vondrák. He considers the attitude of Prague and the governor of Hradec Králové, Martin Červíček (ODS), to be an unsystematic and non-illegal decision.
“The center will be canceled, but registration in the capital continues. For me, this is an absurd disruption of the system, just playing on the fact that we will not have KACPU, “says Červíček, adding that Hradec will not close the center.
The same applies to the Vysočina and Liberec regions. “Despite the significantly lower number of arrivals, it is still needed. We assume that the regions that will replace the absence of the KACPU in other regions will be adequately favored in compensating for the costs incurred, “said Vysočina Regional Governor Vítězslav Schrek (ODS). “It is our duty to operate the Regional Assistance Assistance Center, as government regulations related to the state of emergency are still in force,” said the Governor of the Liberec Region, Martin Půta (SLK).
