Kostic, Weghorst and Co – the status of the rumors
Eintracht Frankfurt has already made a few transfers, but there WILL still be more arrivals and departures. The current status in the rumor mill:
Frankfurt – summer time is always rumor time – also at Eintracht Frankfurt. The priority for the Frankfurters is the search for another striker. Sports director Markus Krösche has been able to present some commitments for the defense. Some rumors about additions could become even hotter, especially if regular players are sold.
Candidates who could still leave Eintracht Frankfurt this summer are Filip Kostic, Daichi Kamada, Evan Ndicka and Martin Hintergger. The contract for the first three will expire in the summer of 2023. It is unlikely that Eintracht would go into the last year of their contract with them and risk losing the players next summer on a free transfer. Hinteregger had with his statements and the incident with a right-wing extremist at his “Hinti-Cup” self sidelined.
Eintracht Frankfurt: Kostic’s decision is near
Krösche recently said about Kostic in the Sport-Bild. “I spoke to him on the phone last week and am in contact with his advisors,” he said planning a decision. “Filip did an incredible amount for us. He decides whether he goes, stays or extends beyond 2023″. Juventus Turin and Tottenham Hotspur are the hottest contenders for a Serbian transfer. Eintracht has already prepared for an exit. Ridvan Yilmaz, an attacking left-back, is reportedly on the verge of a move from Besiktas to Eintracht.
Eintracht will probably only kick another central defender if Hintergger or Ndicka go. But even then it is not certain. With Hrovje Smolcic and Jerome Onguene there are already two newcomers. There were rumors about Ko Itakura, but Borussia Mönchengladbach is said to be the favorite to sign. Another who would lend itself as Ndicka’s successor is Souleymane Isaak Touré. Like Ndicka, the young Frenchman plays in France’s second division before his Eintracht move.
Eintracht Frankfurt has two young playmakers in focus
Eintracht has probably made offers for two young playmakers for the central attacking midfield. Krösche may already be looking for a Kamada successor here. “As a matter of principle, I will not go into the last year of a contract with any player. If they don’t extend, the situation automatically arises that we have to sell,” he told the Bild newspaper a few weeks ago. TyC Sports reporter César Luis Merlo reported that Eintracht should have bid for Nicolás Castro. Spanish journalists claim the same about Alberto Moleiro of Spanish second division club UD Las Palmas. It’s also possible that Unity will bring in one of these talents to mature at Kamada’s side.
The currently most interesting position is the storm. After there were reports that Sebastian Polter or Lucas Alario were about to switch to SGE, ex-Wolfsburg player Wout Weghorst is now the preferred candidate. However, Besiktas Istanbul are also interested in Weghorst. Like the Besiktas president, the striker wants to announce his decision this Wednesday (15 June). It will also be exciting to see which solution Eintracht presents in the end. With Yann Karamoh and Junior Adamu, young storm talents have recently been traded. However, it is more likely that Eintracht will bring in a seasoned player for this position. (yeah)
