Roma refugees from Ukraine were reimbursed, then many boarded taxis and left Rozvadov for Prague | Company News Plzeňská Drbna
The difficult situation with dozens of Roman refugees from Ukraine, who in recent days also attacked the Pilsen region, was described at the meeting of the regional council by Governor Rudolf Špoták (Pirates). In most cases, Ukrainian Roma with Hungarian passports came to pay their benefits when they received their 5,000 crowns, many boarded taxis and left.
The region originally provided housing for 34 Roma people from Ukraine in a private hostel in Strašice in the Rokycany region. “Instead of 34 original people, there were 60 of them at a time. The next day, there were 80 of them, and in the end there were 120. They were different in the plot and in the building. We did a lustration, it was found that only the original 34 people really have accommodation in the building, “ said the governor Rudolf Špoták.
The landlord from Strašice subsequently asked the region that he was unable to ensure that he had a security service on his premises, which would prevent this from increasing the number of people there. “For most people, other accommodation locations that these people reported in the Czech Republic were identified by lustration. These were other regions. In agreement with the police and non-profit organizations, we directed people to the railway station in Rokycany and they went to those localities that they have established within the Czech Republic, “ said Captain Špoták.
The landlord then refused to continue to accommodate these foreigners in his premises. The remaining people subsequently moved to facilities in Nové Domky in the Tachov region. “Out of the 34 people, as they were receiving benefits, some of them got into taxis and left for Prague. In the end, there were eight left who had not yet paid their benefits. We then moved them to a facility in Pilsen, Pilsen, due to the payment of benefits. Of the eight, we ended up with four. We will now place you in one of our facilities. “ the governor described the situation.
He stressed that the Pilsen region is relatively far from the Hungarian border, so the biggest problems are his fellow governor from the South Moravian region and then the mayors from large cities. “We cannot dictate anything to these people, they are EU citizens, they can move freely here. They are like homeless people. “ added Špoták.
Building a tent town is still at stake
The region is still counting on a variant that Prague will close its assistance center for assistance to Ukraine (KACPU) on June 15, which is planned by the mayor Zdeněk Hřib (Pirates). Foreigners will be able to register in the territory of any city where there is no KACPU with the Aliens Police, where they apply for a visa, and will arrange a humanitarian benefit from the Labor Office.
The region has been preparing a tent town for Roma refugees from Ukraine in Nové Domky near Rozvadov in the Tachov region for three weeks. As a variant, it has two or three other locations outside Pilsen. The reason, according to the governor, is that the number of Ukrainian Roma is increasing and their lustration, which used to last 24 to 48 hours, has been extended to 80 hours. “If indeed, as promised by the Ministry of the Interior and the police president, they will negotiate with Hungary to speed up lustration, then we may not need a tent town. It was planned, if it lasted four or five days, then those people would gather here,“Said the governor.
Until it is checked that the refugees do not have dual citizenship, they cannot receive a visa or social benefit, they cannot be registered and the region cannot provide them with accommodation. For this area needs to restore emergency accommodation, said the group governor.
“In Pilsen, 13,788 suffering visas have been issued so far. In May and June, 30 to 50 people came to the city every day, “ said a city spokeswoman Eva Barborková. About 27,000 Ukrainian refugees have come to the Pilsen Region since the end of February. The Regional Assistance Center for Assistance to Ukraine in Pilsen handled 25,300 of them. Hundreds of them now come there every day, usually around 50 people. It employs 8,700 refugees in the region, which is the most out of 14 regions in the Czech Republic. He has so far set aside 61 million crowns for the refugee crisis, which has exhausted about half.
