Trains from Brno to Prague are delayed. A man died in the Tišnov region after a collision with an express train
On Monday afternoon, a human died at a crossing in Předklášteří near Tišnov in the Brno region – after a clash with a RegioJet express train. The main line in the direction of Havlíčkův Brod and Prague was closed, after half an hour the trains could start running on one track, the spokesman of the Czech Railways, the Railway Administration and the South Moravian police officers informed about it.
“We received the report about the collision of the express train with a man at 15:20, the man did not survive the collision. The components of the integrated rescue system are in place, we are dealing with the case and the environment,” said police spokesman Petr Vala. According to witnesses, the man apparently committed suicide, Vala added.
All traffic from South Moravia runs in the direction of Havlíčkův Brod and Prague along the now closed line. The restriction now applies to 12 Czech Railways connections, including six express or express trains and six passenger trains, said Petr Šťáhlavský, a spokesman for the state carrier. In addition, RegioJet express trains pass through and all freight traffic from southern Europe to Germany. According to information on the Czech Railways website, trains will be ten to 20 minutes late due to the closure of one track.
