Together it has a program for Prague, I focus on transport or housing
Municipal elections will be held on September 23 and 24, with both the Prague City Council and the city councils being elected in the capital.
“We have our mayors, deputy mayors and councilors in almost all parts of the city. And in addition to doing a great job there and their neighborhoods are thriving, they are the ones who know very well what is bothering the citizens in Prague and what they would like to change. No other party can enter such an experience, “said Svoboda.
“Prague needs responsible leadership that will offer Prague residents a professional city administration and a conceptual solution and that will act predictably and judiciously. And the Together coalition for Prague is just such a force,” added Jiří Pospíšil (TOP 09). KDU-ČSL candidate Jan Wolf added that the People’s Party will “play the role of social conscience” in the coalition and will focus mainly on the family and the elderly.
The coalition divided its program into nine priorities, which are transport, housing, security, greenery and cleanliness, finance, digitization and entrepreneurship, education and sport, family policy and culture. In transport, the parties want to focus mainly on improving fluidity, building the inner ring road, doubling the capacity of P + R car parks, developing railways in the metropolis through deepening and the creation of an “S metro” or modernization. agglomeration circuit, which forms a second-class road further from Prague.
In terms of housing, the coalition wants to speed up the approval of new areas for owner-occupied and rental housing and, in cooperation with the private sector, build cooperative and rental houses on city and state lands. The program in the security chapter mentions the need for better cooperation between the state and city police and improved security in night public transport.
The coalition also wants to improve public greenery and street cleaning, and in the area of finance it wants to secure more money for the city at the national level by changing the so-called budget allocation of taxes. According to the parties, Prague should be a digital metropolis that supports the development of modern technologies. Another priority is to ensure sufficient places in schools and kindergartens and to improve the social prestige of teachers, non-teaching staff and school principals, including their better evaluation.
In family politics, the coalition wants to resume the construction of large homes for the elderly, which the current Prague coalition does not want to build. In culture, the parties plan to streamline the system of subsidies and continue preparations for the construction of a new philharmonic on Vltavská.
The ODS, which now has 14 seats in the 65-member city council, won the municipal elections in 2018 in Prague. The Pirates finished in second place with 13 representatives, Prague has the same number and the United Joint Forces fourth (TOP 09, STAN and KDU-ČSL). YES has 12 deputies and is in opposition with the ODS. The coalition was agreed upon by Pirates, Prague to Himself and the United Forces for Prague.
