Design of new timetables for the railway. See what changes
The new timetable of the Railway Administration provides for faster passenger transport on some routes. The fastest in history will be the newly reconstructed section between České Budějovice and Prague. The commuter ride time between Ostrava and Prague will also be shortened.
The railway administration has unveiled the first draft of a new timetable on its website. The public can now also comment on it through the client. The final version will then appear in the fall and the timetable should start to apply from 11 December.
“At the end of August, an update of the proposal will be published after its discussion,” the Railway Administration told web.
The new proposal will mean a return to normal connections for many main lines. For many main corridors, the Administration has decided to reconstruct them. These repairs are over and, for example, trains from Prague to Brno will return to the route via Pardubice and Brandýs nad Orlicí.
The repaired sections will also shorten the driving time. For example, for the commuter train from Prague to Ostrava next year, the proposed driving time between Prague’s main railway station and Svinov is three hours and four minutes, which is 12 minutes shorter than before.
“The fastest travel in history will be thanks to large investments on the route from Prague to České Budějovice. Thanks to the new Sudoměřice – Votice section and the modernization of other sections from Tábor to Veselí nad Lužnicí, “The train will be in Tábor from the capital in 59 minutes,” the website said zdopravy.cz.
The proposal also includes planned night trains from Poland and the Czech Republic to the Austrian Alps. According to the original plans, the destination station was Brenner, but eventually it will travel to Feldkirch in Vorarlberg. For next summer, RegioJet also has a connection from Krakow, Poland, to Ostrava via Ostrava.
Most trains of the Czech Railways Ex1 and Ex2 lines in the directions Prague – Ostrava and Prague – Wallachia / Zlín will start and end in Vršovice. The same will apply to express trains in the direction Prague-Brno via Česká Třebová.
The draft new timetable is out. The most fundamental change is the acceleration between Prague and České Budějovice to an hour and 40 minutes, and I will return to normal travel from Prague to Ostrava and Brno. https://t.co/GVsIkZAeO7

Due to budget cuts and lack of money, the Railway Administration is postponing repairs to some lines:
