World Padel Tour 2022, Gutierrez / Tapia and Sanchez / Josemaria triumph at the Vienna Open – OA Sport
The Vienna Open 2022 ends, appointment valid for the World Padel Tour. In the men’s field the title goes to the number 3 couple in the world composed of Sanyo Gutierrez and Agustin Tapia, while at the women’s level the number 2 seeded winners Ariana Sanchez and Paula Josemaría.
MEN’S TOURNAMENT
After winning Lucas Campagnolo and Javier Garrido (couple n.10 of the tournament) in the quarterfinals for 6-3 7-6 and Francisco Navarro and Martin Di Nenno (n.2) in the semifinals for 7-6 6-1, Sanyo Gutierrez e Agustin Tapia also beat world number 1s Alejandro Galan and Juan Lebron for 6-1 0-6 7-6 (4) and took home the third title of the season after those won at the Reus and Copenhagen Open. Honor, however, to Galan and Lebron, who arrived in the last act of the tournament following the victories against Antonio Fernandez and Jose Garcia Diestro (# 16) in the quarterfinals (6-2 7-5) and Fernando Belasteguin and Arturo Coello ( n.7) in the semifinals (for 6-2 6-4).

FEMALE TOURNAMENT
Ariana Sanchez and Paula Josemaria triumph in the women’s tournament. After the successes against Aranzuzu Osoro and Victoria Iglesias (n.7) in the quarterfinals (for 6-2 6-3) and against Carla Mesa and Claudia Jensen (n.15) in the semifinals (for 5-7 7-5 7-5 ), the number 2 of the WPT ranking surpasses the number 1 in the world by a comeback Gemma Triay and Alejandra Salazar (arrived in the last act of the tournament after beating the twins Alayeto in the quarterfinals and Delfina Brea and Tamara Icardo in the semifinals) for 4-6 6-4 6-3. For Sanchez and Josemaria this is the third title of 2022 after those obtained at the Vigo Open and Marbella Masters last week.
At home Italy there are to report the eliminations in the first round of the Cuadro by Roberta Vinci and Giulia Sussarello (# 27), defeated by Veronica Virseda and Barbara Las Herras (# 11) for 6-2 6-4 after a good run in qualifying, and Carolina Orsi, beaten, together with partner Sandra Bellver (couple n.23), by Virginia Riera and Patricia Llaguno (n.5) with a double 6-3.
