UEFA sets penalty for storming in Europa League
Eintracht Frankfurt fans storm the pitch after entering the Europa League final. UEFA has now set the penalty.
Frankfurt – Eintracht Frankfurt celebrated one of the greatest successes in the club’s recent history three weeks ago: winning the Europa League. An entire city celebrated its cup heroes for several days, weddings were canceled because the team wanted to present their cup on the Römer.
So it’s no wonder that the fans were already in total ecstasy after entering the final. When the referee blew the whistle for the game against West Ham United – which Eintracht Frankfurt won 1-0 – numerous supporters stormed the field, celebrated with the team and let their emotions run free. Pyrotechnics were also detonated.

UEFA did not like this storming of the pitch and the burning off of pyrotechnics, which is why the association’s Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body made its decision on Wednesday (08.06.2022) on the incidents in the Europa League semi-final second leg against West Ham United FC in Frankfurt on May 5, 2022 scored.
According to the verdict, the next home game of Eintracht Frankfurt must take place in a European club competition behind closed doors, the SBU writes on its own website. However, the sentence was suspended for a period of two years. In addition, Eintracht has to pay a fine of 80,000 euros.

Eintracht Frankfurt secured a place in the Champions League for the first time in the club’s history by winning the Europa League. In addition, in August in Helsinki, SGE will fight for the UEFA Supercup against the late Champions League winners – also no smaller team than Real Madrid.
