Police receive reports of false traffic fines: “Do not respond to payment requests” | Antwerp
AntwerpPolice zone Antwerp speak via Twitter for phishing mail in the form of traffic fines.
“We receive a lot of questions about a traffic fine that people receive by e-mail and that have multiple senders, including PZ Antwerpen. This is a phishing email. DO NOT go to the request for payment of the fine and DO NOT click on the links in the e-mail”, it sounds at the Antwerp police zone.
Phishing is a way in which online scammers try to steal login, banking or personal information. They do this by locking transactions via a fake email from the government agency they trust. So try to surprise you to click on a link that leads to a fake website. There, future hackers can access the payment of online accounts.
