From Siena to Igor Volley Novara, the beginning of the volleyball fairytale of Helena and Victoria Sassolini
Just 17 years old, but a well-defined volleyball story that began at Cus Siena Volley and continued in Novara, one of the most important squares in women’s volleyball. It is the story of Helena and Victoria Sassolini, the two very young Sienese twins who this year joined Igor Volley Novara, a company that has always been a protagonist at the top of world volleyball that has trophies such as the Italian Scudetto and the Champions League on its bulletin board. Arrived to face the B1 championship but above all the Under 18 championship, at the end of which, the team of the two Sienese sisters, achieved a historic result: to be among the best 4 in Italy.
“A great club, which invests in youth and makes girls play in B1, making them reach high levels in under 18” said Victoria “we are happy and proud, it is a dream that becomes reality. It was the first experience in a national championship and with this result we are really satisfied, a choice, that of coming up here, which we would do again without thinking about it “.
A double story of love for volleyball that is intertwined from an early age: Helena palletrice and Victoria spiker have always played together and on the pitch, despite their young age, they are two classy players, capable of doing difficult things by making them seem simple. So much so as to also deserve the call-up in the first team of the A1 series together with the champions of the caliber of Cristina Chirichella, Caterina Bosetti, of the Turkish Ebrar Karakurt and of the Olympic champions Washington and Hancock.
