Triathlon. The Pontissaliens Simon Fischer and Céline Carrez on the podium of the AlpsMan of Annecy
In 2021, he had broken the house. Simon Fischer, the triathlete from Pontissail won the AlspMan Extrême in Annecy, the hardest format of the event. Neophyte on this XXL, he had integrated his victory in the final ascent of Semnoz, winning after more than 12 hours of racing. A year later, he had again checked the Annecy event on his racing calendar but this time, it is on the half format (2 km of swimming, 100 km of cycling with 1920 of elevation gain, 16 km of running on foot with 1300 m D+) that we find him again this Saturday.
Well on his feet after his three big training sessions during the first three Comté Challenges he had won in the upper Doubs, he again played up front in Haute-Savoie. It was François Reding who won and Thomas Fischer (10e swim time 3e bike time 5e time course on foot) took the 3e place, beaten in the final at the top of Semnoz by Maxime Guillet who beats him by 30 seconds.
Other Pontissaliens were in on the adventure. Sylvain Monnier-Benoit took a very good 24th place and Manuel Vidberg was 27th with the 2e cycling time all the same. In the top 50 we also find the Bisontin David Paccard (38th) just ahead of Céline Carrez (Pontarlier). But Céline Carrez (winner of the trail blanc de Mouthe, the Trail des Reculées and the trail Trait Morbier this year) above all achieved a big performance by taking 3e place in the women’s ranking 15 minutes behind the winner Maëlle Druaz. And still among the girls, another Pontissalienne Sophie Mourot is in the top 5 (5th).
