Slovakia, Austria and Globsec want to start the innovation potential in the Danube region
Slovak Prime Minister Eduard Heger (OĽaNO), Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer and Globsec have issued a joint statement on the Danube Valley Initiative (DTVI) to unleash innovation potential in the Danube region.
Adam Sipos from Globsec informed about it. Both countries want to create the conditions for a stronger, more competitive and more innovative Europe, especially in the region of Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).
They agreed that the war in Ukraine brought attention that needed to be used.
Necessary cooperation
“The goal of the Globsec Danube Tech Valley Initiative is the initial innovation potential of the Danube region. Given the unprecedented interest in the region in the Russian aggression in Ukraine, there is increased potential for CEE countries as a potential focal point for innovation and cross-border cooperation,” explained Robert Vass.
They identified the ways in which the initiative would mobilize innovation potential within the wider neighborhood of the European Union as important in the context of the future integration of the countries of the region.
The joint statement expects the region to have the potential to innovate with domestic talent, but is also firmly integrated into other innovation networks.
“To achieve this, we need to build as close neighbors a multilateral participatory ecosystem of innovation and shared prosperity,” the statement said. The commitment is a position of strength in order to support regional economic development and improve the region in Europe and on the global stage.
A unique combination
The DVTI initiative highlights the potential of the countries of the Danube region, which contain the unique, traditional traditional industries and startups, economic, social and demographic conditions of a new sector compatible with generation technologies in many sectors.
Common subsidies, key competences and key industries thus have the commitments of the new generation EU agreement to represent a political opportunity for regional cross-border cooperation and common approaches to technology-based transformation in the region.
Other governments can join the initiative, and the DTVI is intended to serve as a catalyst for policy measures resulting from regional cooperation.
