A communist MP from Pas-de-Calais, it’s possible!

On May 13, Jean-Marc Tellier, incumbent candidate, and Donata Hochart, candidate replaced in the third constituency of Pas-de-Calais, announced their candidacies in front of a full house which overflowed onto the sidewalks of Lens.
This candidacy is supported by 12 of the 13 mayors of the district, by the president of the Departmental Council, by the president of the urban community of Lens-Liévin, by all the departmental councilors of the district and by all the forces of Lefts united under the banner of the New Popular Ecological and Social Union.
In recent years, Jean-Marc Tellier has been at the initiative of multiple battles for public services, transport, the right to health for all, the fight against poor housing, children’s rights, the right to good food, the fight against evictions, the fight against increases in the cost of energy and against gas and electricity cuts, and for peace and friendship between peoples.
The campaign is in full swing across the constituency. Activists from the four political forces and supporters go door-to-door to present the candidate, his proposals, and also publicize the NON-assessment of the outgoing RN deputy. Indeed, whether for the constituency of Lens or in the National Assembly, the balance sheet of the outgoing deputy is close to nil.
The caravan in the colors of Jean-Marc Tellier’s campaign crisscrosses the territory and stops at the markets. The welcome given to candidates and activists is good and encourages us to redouble our efforts. Sylvain Robert, mayor of Lens and president of the agglomeration, has agreed to chair the support committee with Cathy Apourceau-Poly, senator.
The mining basin is a territory that has been abandoned for too long. Local elected officials, despite their dedication, need a man to lean on in order to make the realities of our daily lives heard and measured.
The mining area deserves as much attention from the State as from the big cities. And the workers as much as the wealthiest social classes. This candidacy aims to be useful, give more strength to the struggles and more means of development in the mining area, participate in the emergence of new policies radically anchored on the left, participate in implementing reforms to stop the rise prices, starting with that of fuel and food, immediately raise the minimum wage to 1,500 euros net, revalue pensions and set up a guarantee of young autonomy…
The left gathered within the New Popular Ecological and Social Union (Nupes) has every chance of succeeding in the first round and chasing the RN deputy in the second. Like the departmental elections of 2021, where the intelligent union from the first round made it possible to win 4 cantons on the RN (three of which have municipalities on the constituency) and thus halve their number of elected members on the council departmental.
So, yes, it is possible to defeat the far right and elect a deputy committed to social justice, committed to being useful to the inhabitants and the territory!
