According to Viorel Gherciu, the decision to ban wheat exports is correct. The official said that there are currently sufficient quantities of wheat, corn and sunflower in stock for the needs of the Republic of Moldova.

The Minister of Agriculture also says that measures are being taken locally to provide farmers with the fertilizers and other products they need.

At present, the Republic of Moldova imports almost half of the dairy products needed for domestic consumption and 20 percent of the meat needs. Therefore, some farmers have proposed that the unused state lands be transformed into cow pastures.

The Ministry of Agriculture has also notified itself in connection with the problems of the farmers from Rascani district, who cannot buy diesel wholesale.
