The end of the tourist open-air museum, Prague is to be a technological leader

The best inventions are made where they can meet people from other fields, “says Beránek.
Last week, the Innovation Institute organized the Innovative Visions of Prague 2030 conference in the May building on Národní třída, which brought together creatives, key business players and representatives of the capital. The panel discussions raised six key topics: AI & Digitization, Space – Science and Research, the Cultural and Creative Industries, Innovation in Education, Urban and Promoting Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
According to the organizers, Prague should not only be an open-air museum of tourism, but a leader in the field of technology. “So that in 2030 Prague will not only be a place where tourists from all over the world go, but a center that brings science and technology, from which many jobs are derived,” wishes Bohumil Kartous, head of the Prague Innovation Institute.

“Prague will have more potential, more entrepreneurship. This is not just a business for profit, but a willingness of young people to pursue their own ideas and take responsibility. The level of such commitment is then relatively high, it brings not only economic success, but also life satisfaction, “says Kartous.
According to him, until 2020, the potential for innovation in Prague was insufficiently used. It was absent abroad, the system of working with the talents of lower schools, the motivation of university students to work in innovations and qualified foreign workers found it difficult to apply for a job in the metropolis. Prague also threatened to lose significant European funding for research, development and innovation. Therefore, two years ago, the Prague Innovation Institute was established, as the last center of its kind in the Czech Republic, similar places in other regions have been operating for many years.

At the Prague Innovation Institute, projects are currently underway that are funded by more than 90 percent of European sources. The rest of the rental Prague.
