Kohout in Prague: Cocking disturbs neighbors!
The well-known designer Maxim Velčovský pointed out an unusual phenomenon in Prague last Wednesday on a social network. “Someone bought a rooster in the courtyard. I have to laugh at the crowing at dawn, even though it can be annoying for someone. ”
Under the post, comments began to swarm, in which people shared smiling and less funny stories about animals and their sound expressions. “My neighbor has two peacocks. The day will start to meow at 4:30, “Anna wrote in the post. Eva encountered a similar case: “A rooster at dawn is fine, but a neighbor’s dog two hours a night is hell. The neighbor is deaf and the dog can bark for hours. ”František is woken up early by parrots early in the morning. “At my side in Jindřišská Street, above the restaurant, the only balcony on the first floor, opposite … the family and the parrot.”
Disturbing the night’s peace?
They solved a similar case in 2019 in Prostějov, where a local flock of hens and a rooster bought a local in the courtyard in one of the city’s streets. His crowing then woke people up, and they began to complain in droves. Prostějov City Hall, where the complaints went, but at that time could not do much about it – she said, bIf this is not an offense against civil cohabitation, she advised citizens to try to reach an agreement with a neighbor, or to go to court.
According to the city police, cases where the inhabitants of the house disturb at night or early in the morning, in more frequent cases a barking dog or in those rare years of a rooster or peacock, cannot be considered as disturbing the peace of the night. In such cases, good neighborly relations can be appealed as much as possible or the situation can be resolved within the house rules. “Furthermore, it is possible to contact the locally competent authority of the city district or, in the worst case, by civil law,” Irena Seifertová told Blesk.cz.
Disruption of the night’s rest can be solved in three ways, namely by agreement, a fine of up to 10,000 crowns or notification by an administrative body. “In the year 2021, we dealt with a total of 7,664 offenses in the metropolis, currently disturbing the night’s peace, and in the first month of this year, 2,269 of these offenses so far,” said Seifertová.
