“As a coach, Brian was formed by the Midtjylland system, which aims to win, develop players and give opportunities to young talent. These are the same goals we have in Sparta. With this way of working, he was able to win a title in the Danish league and then advance through the qualification to the group stage of the Champions League, “said Sparta Sports Director Tomáš Rosický.
“He also has experience from the European League, where he managed to fight his way through the qualifying preliminary rounds with Antwerp. I believe that in Sparta he will continue his current coaching work, “said the former midfielder of Dortmund or Arsenal.
In Sparta, Priske will meet his compatriot, extreme defender Casper Höjer.
Coaching career
Příske became the head coach of Central Jutland in 2019. In the first first 2019/20, he won the title with the team. The following year, with him at the expense of Slavia, he advanced to the main stage of the Champions League for the first time in club history, where Midtjylland finished last in the competition of Liverpool, Bergamo and Ajax Amsterdam.
He finished second in the Danish competition. He then sat on the bench of Royal Antwerp, with whom he placed fourth in the last Belgian league. In the autumn, he also introduced himself to the team in the basic group of the European League.
Before the start of last year, Sparta announced an attack on the title, which it has been waiting for since 2014. In the end, however, it was left without any trophy.
She finished third in the league with a gap of 12 to the championship Pilsen and lost 1: 3 to Slovakia in the final of the domestic cup. Coach Pavel Vrba, whose Sparta canceled three competitive matches before the end of the year, was no longer defeated. Michal Horňák, the coach of the second-league B-team, temporarily took over the team.
Letna also presented themselves in the European Cup. Despite the qualification of the Champions League, they secured participation in the main phase of the European League, from where they got to the opening round of the spring elimination phase of the new European Conference League. They were not enough for Partizan Belgrade.
