Brahim Diaz between Milan and Madrid
Brahim Diaz has had a good season on loan at AC Milan, making 31 Serie A appearances, but his future remains uncertain.
The 22-year-old has become the first-ever player under the age of 23 to win the triple crown of the Premier League (Manchester City), LaLiga Santander (Real Madrid) and Serie A (Milan).
In theory, Brahim a second year on loan with the Rossoneri in reserve, but he can opt out of this second year if Real Madrid were to oppose it.
Not to miss
Brahim wears number 10 at Milan and is loved by coach Stefano Pioli, although he didn’t start all the time in the second half of the season.
But his 31 games played have shown great regularity in minutes. Therefore, the option to stay put for the second year of this loan is very viable. All parties would win.
The Rossoneri want to buy him from Real Madrid, who paid City €17m plus €7m in add-ons in January 2019.
Real Madrid and Milan could find a deal but, in that case, Los Blancos would have an option to buy him out. They don’t want to completely free the player.
