Star chef Daniel Gottschlich opens Restaurant Puls in Cologne: daily menu
The new restaurant Pulse by 2-star chef Daniel Gottschlich celebrated its opening on May 24th in Cologne’s old town – three months later than announced (daily menu reported). It is the star chef’s second restaurant in Cologne, after the “Ox & Klee” in Rheinauhafen.
But while Gottschlich relies on a unique menu sequence in the “Ox & Klee”, in Puls he concentrates on exquisite à la carte dishes and a casual atmosphere. The dishes can also be served as sharing dishes and reflect the historical influences of the city. “The dishes are creative and puristically modern, but with a certain historical twist,” explain patron Daniel Gottschlich and head chef Johannes Langenstück.
In the evening, the restaurant transforms into a stylish bar under the direction of bar master Kaan Gilmour, who is known for his extravagant cocktail creations.
The design of the restaurant, which is located within the newly opened “Legend” boutique hotel and is therefore in the middle of the foundations of the Roman city wall, is based on Cologne’s history. The roof terrace offers a view of Cologne’s old town with an unobstructed view of the cathedral and the stone sculptures of the Three Kings on the town hall tower. (dpa)
