For Schumacher, it would be “a pity” to lose the Monaco GP
Germany’s Mick Schumacher is one of those who will not want to see the Monaco Grand Prix disappear from the Formula 1 calendar, as the contract for the Monaco event comes to an end this year.
Although the organizers of the Monaco Grand Prix recently stated that the Monegasque event was very likely to remain on the Formula 1 calendar for a few more years, no official confirmation has yet been made by F1 (which does not I should come by later). Asked about the possibility of seeing this race disappear, Mick Schumacher declared that it would be a “pity” not to come to the Principality any more, especially since some drivers on the grid still want to win the triple crown (Monaco GP, Indy 500 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans).
” He [le GP de Monaco] been part of Formula 1 for so long and it’s a historic place. It would be a shame to lose an event that has been in the sport for so many years. » Schumacher said.
” [Monaco] has always been considered one of the great events to win. If you manage to win the three big victories – the Indy 500, the Monaco Grand Prix and the 24 Hours of Le Mans – it would be a real shame to lose such an opportunity. It’s something some riders are looking for, it’s definitely not my number one priority, but some might still want to do it. »
The first free practice for the Monaco Grand Prix begins this Friday, May 27 – a first in Monaco, since the first free practice of the weekend was scheduled for the previous Thursday.
