Bari hosts the meeting of the honorary consuls of Mexico of Italy, Albania, Malta and San Marino
BARI – The honorary consuls of Mexico meet for the first time in Bari, in the presence of Ambassador Carlos Garcìa de Alba and the consuls of Italy and Albania, Malta in San Marino. Yesterday, Wednesday 25 May, a first moment of meeting to bring Puglia and Mexico even closer. Today, however, the works are extended with the first meeting of the Honorary Consuls at the Circolo della Vela, with the greeting and presentation of Francesco Maldarizzi, Honorary Consul of Mexico for Puglia and Basilicata.
Following the speeches by Ambassador García de Alba and the Consul General in Milan, María de los Angeles Arriola Aguirre. The topics of the day also include the state of bilateral relations between Mexico and Italy and an overview of the changes to the consular districts and the reorganization of the honorary consulates. It will also be a moment to remember two dates: 2022, the Embassy’s centenary and 2024, 150 years of bilateral relations.
After the interventions of the Honorary Consuls, the meetings with the authorities begin: at the Municipality of Bari with the Mayor Antonio Decaro; in the presidency of the Puglia Region with the President Michele Emiliano; with the Rector of the LUM Antonello Garzoni and the Vice Rector for Internationalization Patrizia Guida of the LUM University, and finally at the Government Palace with the Prefect Antonella Bellomo.
Francesco Maldarizzi, Honorary Consul of Mexico for Puglia and Basilicata, said: «Mexico and Puglia have excellent relations and great potential to grow. As a Consul and as an entrepreneur, these moments of meeting and exchange are fundamental for the growth of the tourism, agricultural and health sectors, by linking two territories that have so much in common “.
