Monza-Pisa is the playoff final, Brescia eliminated
On the day of the AC Milan championship, another satisfaction came for Silvio Berlusconi and Adriano Galliani, probably even greater: the Monza he folded at home 2-1 on Brescia in the return semi-final of the Serie B playoffs and was one step away from promotion to Serie A, hitting the final.
In this way, Stroppa’s men will play against Pisa in the next few days the last place available for promotion in the top flight: under 2-1 after the knockout in the first leg, Corini’s team immediately found the net in the 7th minute with Tramoni, fueling the hopes of making the feat (the Rondinelle had to win by two goals to qualify). Immediately the disadvantage, however, as in the first leg, a vehement reaction from the red and white: the goals from Monza all arrive in the second half, to seal a performance that sees the “Bagaj” impose themselves again on the Brescia side with the result of the first leg.
At 70 ‘comes the draw of Monza with Leonardo Mancuso, just entered in the place of Dany Mota: great work by Gytkjaer who defends balls and serves the ex-Empoli striker, able to cool Joronen out with a sliding winger. The Brescia shakes back to the office, but at the end, the acute of D’Alessandro (another change that Stroppa guessed), closes the accounts with a placed in the corner at the end of a nice personal action.
For Monza it is now again final against the Pisa, a story already seen in 2007, at the time promotion play-off in Serie C: for the Brianza, the Tuscans represent a real taboo, since starting from that historic final lost, they have never been able to “take revenge” sportingly of the Nerazzurri opponents. The two matches, valid for promotion to Serie A, will be played on Thursday in Monza and Sunday, with the return to the Arena Garibaldi in Pisa.
