The Prague Transport Company is looking for a new voice that will announce stops and other information for passengers in buses and trams on city and suburban lines. He has launched an audio poll on the web, in which people can choose between four votes until June 19. The winner will take over the baton from Dagmar Hazdrová, who has been accompanying passengers on a daily basis with her public transport in Prague since 1996.

People can only vote once for one of the four votes selected by the expert committee for the final. “Ladies and gentlemen are equally represented in them by two votes. You will probably find them familiar, you have heard them in dubbing or in theatrical performances. However, we will only reveal their identity after the survey, so that the names do not affect your decision, “said the carrier.

Passengers can hear live competition voices on selected lines of tram line 9 and bus line 136. “Each vote is recorded in one tram and one bus, and these vehicles are marked with a special external and internal field notifying the survey, including a QR code, after which the passenger will be sent directly to the online survey, “the Zdopravy.cz server pointed out.

There are over four thousand stops in the Prague integrated transport network, ie in the capital and the surrounding Central Bohemian regions. The recordings of the stops must be continuously updated, the report is generated gradually as needed.

Eighty-eight-year-old radio announcer Dagmar Hazdrová has been the voice of Prague’s trams and buses for the past almost 30 years. Passengers could hear her voice in other cities as well. However, she decided to stop recording some time ago, so the transport company began looking for a replacement. In March this year, Hazdrová became an honorary citizen of Prague. He received the award for extraordinary deeds during the August invasion of Soviet troops in 1968, when he truthfully reported on the dramatic events of the time on Czechoslovak Radio.
