Portugal U-17 European Championship with a rout against Scotland
In the next game, the Portuguese team will face Sweden, in a match scheduled for Friday.
Portugal thrashed Scotland 5-1 in their debut in Group D of the European Under-17 Championship, in a match played in Lod, Israel.
Portugal, which at half-time was already leading 3-0, scored through Ivan Lima (8 minutes), José Rodrigues (26), João Veloso (37 penalties), Afonso Moreira (69) and Rodrigo Ribeiro (73), while MacKenzie (62) scored the Scots’ only goal.
With this triumph, Portugal leads Group D with three points, the same as Sweden, which beat Denmark (2-1). In the next game, the Portuguese team will face the Swedes, in a scheduled match on Friday.
