The D1 in the section between Chodov and the Prague ring road will belong to Prague
This follows from the material approved by the Prague councilors today. According to the city’s donation agreement, in addition to the road itself, the land associated with it also belongs to it. The motorway is now managed by the state through its company Directorate of Roads and Motorways (ŘSD). The road in this section could become either a local road or a second or third class road. Land related to the motorway would also be transferred to Prague. The transfer of this part of the D1 to Prague was talked about about five years ago.
The donation contract applies to the section, which starts with a zero kilometer in Chodov and ends at a place 5.2 kilometers away. The agreement is based on the already approved memorandum between the city and ŘSD on property settlement during the construction of the Prague Ring Road. The memorandum was approved by the city council in March 2017 and subsequently the city also approved a contract for a future contract, on the basis of which a donation contract has now been drawn up.
In the future, it should work in such a way that the Prague ring road and all roads coming out of it would belong through the state’s RSD. The roads leading to the city would then be owned by the city. However, after the transfer of part of the D1 to the city’s ownership, Prague would not only own the road itself, but all buildings and land directly related to the motorway would also become the property of the capital.
Upon completion, the Prague ring road is to measure about 80 kilometers and is divided into 11 sections. Less than half are now in operation. There is no part between Ruzýn, Suchdol and Běchovice and between Běchovice and the D1 motorway. The investor of the construction is ŘSD.
