After two waves of redundancies, Prague Airport intends to hire 200 new employees this year
The largest airport needs security staff, passenger check-in and aircraft loading and unloading.
This year, Prague Airport plans to lay off a number of its employees after a two-year covid and a layoff. It intends to hire up to 200 employees and dozens more employees on long-term jobs. The reason is the growth in the number of passengers. While 4.4 million passengers passed through the airport gates last year, the estimate for this year has already risen to 9.6 million passengers.
The largest airport currently needs security staff, passenger check-in and aircraft loading and unloading. Vacancies are available, for example, for bus drivers, firefighters, airport security and lounge staff.
Recruitment comes after the critical years 2020 and 2021, when Prague Airport (including its subsidiaries) laid off 600 employees from administration and operations in two waves. Prague Airport now has about 3,300 employees.
“With the new connections expected as a higher frequency, it is necessary to ensure that there are enough staff to ensure that the check-in is comfortable and that the contractual requirements of the carriers are met.” said Dana Lörincová, the airport’s personnel director.
