Šimral (Pirates): Prague organizes the interuniversity Startup Night event

The capital is the Central European center of education and supports all activities that move education forward on its territory. One of them is the interuniversity event Startup Night, which was organized by the five largest Prague universities and colleges in cooperation with the City of Business and Innovation. m Prague (PIC).
About 300 university students and innovators, social entrepreneurs and interesting personalities from the ranks of business and education met there. The capital contributed a financial subsidy of 100,000 crowns, the amount of which was approved by the Prague City Council.
The Spring Startup Night took place in the OC Máj conference space on Národní třída in Prague. Startup Night takes place every six months and connects cooperation across Prague universities and their students so that they can share their experiences with the innovative environment as they develop further. The event is organized by Charles University, the University of Economics, the Czech Technical University, the Czech University of Agriculture and the University of Chemical Technology in Prague. For the second time, the Prague Innovation Institute (Pii) and the City of Business and Innovation Center are also participating in it. m of Prague and the student association SPOLUPRACUJEME.
“The aim of this project is to connect students of Prague universities who wanted to share their innovative ideas and present them to the professional public and potential investors. Thanks to this, you will get both valuable contacts and feedback, including interdisciplinary connections. Cooperation between individual universities and the support of innovative ideas, which we primarily want to support and advance in the Prague environment, is also crucial, “said Vít Šimral, Councilor for Education and Business Support.

In a few minutes, participants first present their project, what or who they are looking for, and then attend the main evening networking part, where they share their knowledge and experience. Among others, startups from Storyous, BeiT, Pipedrive, V pytli, Fitify, Kaleido, ArtMaster and MarbleMat also shared their experiences with the students.
“In the Business Innovation Center of the Capital City of Prague, we not only support Prague entrepreneurs, companies or startups, but we also focus on supporting entrepreneurship among students. We see the connection between the university, the city and young people as key to the healthy development of Prague’s business environment, ”added Aneta Bednářová, PIC’s program manager, who manages the Prague Innovation Institute.
