Langnau am Albis: motorcycle inspection carried out
Around 140 motorcyclists were stopped during the major inspection. They, passengers and their vehicles were then checked by police officers from the Zurich cantonal police and a patrol from the Adliswil – Langnau am Albis police force. Specialists from the Technical Traffic Unit of the Zurich Cantonal Police were also on hand to provide support.
Three controlled persons were reported to the governor’s office; four motorcycles are reported to the road traffic office for verification. A fine was issued due to various violations due to seven people and a further seven complaint reports due to minor deficiencies.
In addition to checking the technical condition of the two-wheelers, the driving licenses and the ability to drive of the drivers were checked. Employees from the prevention department of the Zurich cantonal police were also present. Together with the police officers, they drew the motorcyclists’ attention to safety aspects when riding a motorcycle, such as correctly assessing one’s own abilities, a considerate driving style and the associated prevention of unnecessary noise, as well as the importance of appropriate protective equipment. An employee of the specialist office for noise protection is also available for information. In addition, officials from the municipalities of Langnau am Albis and Adliswil got an idea of the major inspection and exchanged ideas with those present.
