Women’s Futsal Euro Qualifiers – Belgium qualified for the second round
(Belga) Thanks to its 6-4 victory against Gibraltar, Belgium validated its qualification for the second qualifying round of the Euro 2023 women’s futsal, Saturday in Gibraltar.
After a 12-1 victory against Moldova and a 1-1 draw against Slovakia, Red Flames Futsal have seven points, the same total as the Slovaks, but finish in first place thanks to a better goal difference (+ 13 against +4). In the second round, the girls of Karim Bachar, also coach of the men’s team, will challenge Spain, Sweden and Finland, hosts of this group 1 of the last qualifying round. If they qualify as one of the two best runners-up of the three groups, they will be presented in a pool which will include Hungary and Czechia. These matches will be played between October 18 and 23. The four group winners of this second round will advance to the Final Four in March 2023. This will be the third edition of this European Women’s Futsal Championship. Spain won the first edition in 2019. The Final Four of the second edition, scheduled for early July in Hungary, will see Ukraine, Spain, Portugal and Hungary battle it out for the overall victory. Belgium had failed in the first qualifying round of the first edition and in the 2nd qualifying round in the second edition. (Belgian)
