Girls sick at school party in New Amsterdam. Police have no direct connection with drug use of drugs. ‘But we don’t rule anything out’
A number of girls became unwell last night after a school party at Party Palace New York in New Amsterdam. This is apparent from a report by a parent of one of the students on Facebook. The police are investigating the report and how the girls became ill.
According to the message on social media, drugs were ‘deliberately’ involved, but that was police spokesperson Anne Kok. “We certainly do not assume that. We have received three reports from parents whose daughters are not feeling well.”
According to the report, fifteen girls, at least one of whom would have visited the hospital for examination. Later that night she was allowed to sleep off her intoxication at home.
Kok says that the three girls have been medically examined. “But they are not in mortal danger. Together we want to find out what exactly happened. For the time being, we have no direct evidence that children have been drugged on a large scale, but we are not ruling out anything either.”
Problems with the air conditioner
Owner Johan Velzing of Party Palace New York reports to RTV Drenthe that the parent’s report is incorrect. However, there would be problems with the air conditioning in the property, resulting in the rise sharply and the children became unwell.
