“Concerts under the stars”: Toulouse launches a new festival in July at the Raymond VI garden
While Rio Loco will be back in June for a new edition, Toulouse residents will be able to discover the Toulouse Festival this summer. The town hall has just presented this new event, which will take place in the Raymond VI garden, which borders the Abattoirs museum. “The festival is intended to be a beautiful escape, a journey through musical genres: classical, soul, tango, pop, jazz, electro, film music, flamenco…”, specifies the town hall.
A getaway to the Prairie des Filtres, on the banks of the Garonne
Indeed, from the tribute to Aretha Franklin by Natural Woman Band and the Orchester du Capitole, to the Carnival of the Animals revisited by Alex Vizorek and the Duo Jatekók, through the music of Hayao Miyazaki’s films by the Grissini Project, the program promises to be particularly varied. Also note the presence of soprano Nathalie Dessay, Julie Depardieu, Lambert Wilson, André Manoukian and Jean-François Zygel. In total, 19 “concerts under the stars” are scheduled in this garden in the Saint-Cyprien district.
On Saturday July 16, the Toulouse Festival will move to the Prairies des Filtres, on the banks of the Garonne, for three concerts. Electro pianist Thomas Valverde will open the evening, and will be followed by a pop-symphony concert with the Orchester national du Capitole and the participation of Julien Clerc. Finally, it is Kavinky, known in particular for the soundtrack of the film Drive, who will come to close this special evening.
