The ex-mayor of Prague 1 refused to sell the city apartment well below the price
According to the indictment, Lomecký, as the mayor of Prague, signed an agreement on April 1, 2013 without the knowledge and approval of the council to transfer more than 200 meters of 7 + 1 apartment in Opletalova 15 for 7.1 million crowns, despite the fact that half a year earlier 18 million crowns.
Olga Tykač’s daughter Olga Grillová started offering this, but she eventually withdrew from the tender. The other three competed in other flats, and therefore it was the turn of the fifth offer, which amounted to about 7.1 million crowns.
According to experts, the value of the apartment was slightly over 10 million. Lomecký was to deprive Prague 1 of 3.3 million crowns. He had to violate his duties in the administration of other people’s property and abuse the authority of an official, for which he faces up to ten years in prison.
Lomecký refused any wine in court. “I completely disagree with this legal qualification, I feel innocent because those things were fundamentally different. Absolutely innocent, I do not want to enter into any agreement, “said Lomecký.
At the hearing, the judge tried to find out from Lomecký how the usual price was determined. The ex-mayor replied that subjectively. “In retrospect, I would say that the usual price was the 7.1 million,” he said, adding that there were lower bids in the tender, such as six, four or two million crowns, but these were out of the question.
“The price of 7.1 million per apartment did not seem disproportionate to me in 2012,” said Lomecký, adding that he came to this by empirical findings.
Lomecký further stated that the biggest problem at that time was the relocation of the city center. “We did not want the apartments to buy real estate, which for the most part converted them into airbnb,” Lomecký continued. “A political decision was made that legal entities were excluded from the tender in advance,” he added.
According to the findings of the Aktuálně server, the apartment in question ended up in the company of the billionaire’s wife Pavel Tykač. It focuses on short-term accommodation in the center of Prague. She bought the apartment for just over 10 million crowns.
I don’t feel wrong, Lomecký said
“I do not feel any personal fault in this case. I acted in good faith that I was following the law, “he stood behind his Lomecký, who denied knowing Grill. He allegedly knows Ivan Tykač from television because of her involvement in the Lunch to Schools project.
Lomecký’s accusation arose from a police investigation into several tenders for the sale of several dozen flats, in which more than thirty politicians in Prague 1 were accused, including Lomecký or Deputy Mayor Daniel Hodek (ČSSD).
In the past, the current councilor David Bodeček (Pirates) drew attention to non-standard procedures.
