Despite this, I announce investment projects that are based on the necessary expansion of the renovation of the existing premises of the buildings, we want to best cover these necessary needs for education at our secondary schools. These are mainly events such as reconstructions or built-ins, as is the case with Professor Jan Patočka’s Grammar School, where the reason for the implementation of large-scale financial contracts is the complete reconstruction of the school and expansion of its space capacity, ”said Vít Šimral, Prague’s councilor for education.
Specifically, it is a reconstruction of the existing interior spaces, the construction of an atrium with a gym in the main courtyard of the building, the installation of an attic or a vertical port in the area of the smaller south-west courtyard.
Renovation of the school’s interior includes modification of the internal layout, reconstruction of surfaces or construction of new sanitary facilities. In the newly built atrium area, there will again be a gym and a covered foyer above it. The gym will be designed with a high ceiling and will be built over two floors. This will increase the capacity for teaching physical education, which is currently insufficient and is addressed by renting in other premises. The created foyer above the newly built gym will be used for spending free time between classes and for community meetings of students, teachers and public events organized by the school.
The built-in attic will then create new spaces for teaching and the necessary social and administrative facilities of the school. Due to the attic, it will also be necessary to build an elevator, which will make the school barrier-free. Last but not least, the reconstruction includes the replacement of the school’s internal installations.
The newly built premises will replace the classrooms and facilities that the school currently has to rent in the area. Transfers between two workplaces have long been unbearable, both in terms of organization and security.
