Rammstein, One Republic or Scorpions. See which big names will perform in Prague Culture News Pražská Drbna
Dozens of concerts by world stars of popular music are being produced in Prague this year. One Republic, Rammstein, Tool, Dream Theater, Scorpions or Korn will arrive in the metropolis in May. In some cases, these will be performances translated due to anti-pandemic measures, for which the original ticket price remains. Interested parties pay for new events.
Concert ticket prices will rise
While in the past tickets for similar concerts cost approximately 1250 crowns, now prices will be around 2000 crowns and more. “Prices will go up because cost increases will be reflected, margins are small and otherwise the agency would not benefit. The price of energy is rising and the fees of bands may increase, the average price of tickets will increase with the winnings of events put up for sale before the price increase, “ he said Jiří Franc from Echo Promotion, which represents Live Nation.
The organizers have no idea yet whether the increase will affect visitors. “It’s hard to predict how people will react if they don’t have as much money as before. It’s a big question mark if anyone can go to a concert with their partner, for example, four times a month, “ said Franc.
“We really want people to be able to put time and money into culture,” added his colleague Ondřej Pojzl.
One Republic in Rammstein
The next concert is today’s performance of the American One Republic at the O2 arena, where the group with singer, composer and producer Ryan Tedder will present their hits and songs from the current album Human. At the end of the week, the German Rammstein will perform at two concerts on 15 and 16 May, offering an open fire show and a new Zeit album in Letňany in the open air. The capacity of Letňany 60,000 people is expected to be almost sold out. Their fans paid for a ticket from 1790 to 2390 crowns.
“People were buying tickets at the time of the anti-pandemic measures, when it was not clear whether the concerts would take place at all. They deserve thanks for the fact that the return of the entry was minimal, so they kind of credited us, “ Franc remarked.
Scorpions and Dream Theater in one evening at two locations in Prague
The offer of concerts is wide due to their translation due to coronavirus waves and related pandemic limitations. No big events have taken place in the last two years. “While Live Nation has held an average of thirty concerts a year in recent years, there will be fifty this year,” Pojzl pointed out.
The collision of dates caused two large concerts to take place in Prague on one day on May 26. While the popular German Scorpions will play in the O2 arena, the American band Dream Theater will occupy the sports hall in Holešovice with its progressive metal. “It simply came to our notice then. These two concerts go against each other, a lot of people would like to see both, “ stated Franc.
In May, among other bands, the American award-winning progressive rock band Tool will perform at the O2 arena and their compatriots Korn in the sports hall in Holešovice.
