Glory gives statement about canceled Glory Rival 1 Antwerp
Glory Kickboxing released a statement tonight about the cancellation of the Glory Rivals 1 event in Antwerp on May 21. The organization is not ultimately responsible, but only namesake of the Rivals events.
Today it was announced that the Glory Rivals 1 event will not take place due to an investigation launched by the Belgian just fraud and money laundering at the AFO organization. This is the organizer of the event, the inquiry does not concern Glory Kickboxing itself. Glory issues a statement as follows:
Not involved
“We are saddened by the circumstances surrounding GLORY RIVALS 1, an event scheduled for May 21 in Antwerp, Belgium. Promoted by ENFUSION and organized by its local Belgian partner, AFO, GLORY is in no way involved in the organization of this event, nor do we have any affiliation with the local AFO promoter/license holder. We wholeheartedly support supportive kickboxing as a clean, professional sport and fully support the Belgians in their actions.”
“Our GLORY RIVALS program was created to enable our athletes to compete against fighters from local organizations and help the sport of kickboxing grow. We will continue to hold and try to maintain information regarding a new battle timing of the GLORY fighters attacking on May 21. The next GLORY RIVALS event is scheduled for June 11.”
