Serremaggio returns to Serre di Rapolano, between past and future
After two years of forced stop due to the pandemic, the appointment with the history and traditions of Serremaggio. The event will enliven the village from Tuesday 10 to Sunday 15 May with a rich program of events that combines past, present and future between music, entertainment, culture, local flavors and historical re-enactments to celebrate the “Ciambragina Festival”, a medieval woman linked to local history.
The program. “Serremaggio, past and future within the walls”, will open Tuesday 10 Mayat 18.30, with the inauguration of the photographic exhibition “Details” by Daniele Ficarelli, set up in the Museo dell’Antica Grancia until Sunday 15 May. The exhibition collects images taken in Serre di Rapolano and in the surrounding countryside and also counts on the patronage of FIAF, the Italian Federation of Photographic Associations, of which Daniele Ficarelli is a part and from which he received, in 2017, the AFI Award, Artist of Photography. Italian. The evening will continue at the spaghetti shop, open from 19.30 for the dinner with Chianina meat tastingwhile at 9.30 pm the treasure hunt is scheduled through the streets of the town.
Wednesday 11 Mayat 6 pm, the Museo dell’Antica Grancia will host the presentation of the book “An ancient noble family at the Serre and its court: the Gori Martini” in the presence of the authors Giulio Pini and Annarosa Castellani. The volume is dedicated to Sandro Rossolini – a figure engaged in the rediscovery of local history and traditions who died prematurely a few years ago – and is the result of a double work: the compilation of an inventory of about 4 thousand documents through photos of pages taken from the Gori Martini archive, kept in the Siena State Archives, and the drafting of the book dedicated to the genealogy and history of the noble family present in Serre di Rapolano since the sixteenth century. The evening continues at 9.30 pm in the central square of the Rapolese village with “Hullers in concert”.
Music and theater will enliven the evening of Thursday 12 May with a double appointment at 21.30: the live performance of Sovereign snakes in the Central Square and the performance “Top Dalmata and Ares Teatroi present improvisation matches” at the “G.
