Minister Agnès Pannier-Runacher finally not a candidate in Pas-de-Calais
The current Minister of Industry has announced that she is not a candidate for the legislative elections in Pas-de-Calais. His companion hopes to win in the constituency of Lens.
She was expected to be a candidate in the third constituency of Pas-de-Calais, but Emmanuel Macron’s current Minister Delegate for Industry will ultimately not go.
While the second wave of nominations of presidential majority candidates under the banner Whole was unveiled today, the name of Agnès Pannier-Runacher does not appear among the list of candidates invested in the department.
“I have decided not to be a candidate in the legislative elections”wrote the person in a message posted on social networks, which ensures that she will support the candidates of the majority in the mining basin throughout the campaign.
More than ever, I want to continue to invest myself in Pas-de-Calais and in my city of Lens.
Agnès Pannier-Runacher, Minister of Industry
Agnès Pannier-Runacher also indicates that she wants to form a collective “on the long term” with the “vital forces of the territory”.
In the constituency of Lens where Marine Le Pen mentioned more than 43% of the votes cast in the first round of the presidential election, it was ultimately the companion of the Minister of Industry who was invested by LREM.
Current chief of staff to the Minister of Education Jean-Michel Blanquer, Nicolas Bays had been a deputy for the twelfth constituency of the department from 2012 to 2017 under the socialist banner.
In Pas-de-Calais, the presidential majority unveiled ten of the twelve candidates who will compete in the constituencies. Note that the current Minister Delegate for Autonomy Brigitte Bourguignon is once again representing herself in the 6th.
Another highlight: there will be a candidate facing the outgoing LR deputy Pierre-Henri Dumont in Calaisis (7th district), threatened after the score of Valérie Pécresse in the presidential election and the rallying to Emmanuel Macron of the LR mayor of Calais. Henri Waroczyk, current vice-president of the agglomeration, will campaign under the banner Whole.
For the time being, no official candidate has been announced in the 2nd (Arras Nord) and 4th (Le Touquet) districts of the department. The last names must be announced before May 10.
