From Calais to Beauvais, the mayors of Hauts-de-France present at the investiture ceremony of Emmanuel Macron
Among the 500 guests invited to the Elysée to attend Emmanuel Macron’s investiture ceremony, several personalities from our region.
Beyond the northern ministers present – Gérald Darmanin, Éric Dupond-Moretti, Agnès Pannier-Runacher, Barbara Pompili or even Brigitte Bourguignon – some local elected officials from Hauts-de-France attended Emmanuel Macron’s investiture ceremony this Saturday May 7.
Natacha Bouchart, LR mayor of Calais, had announced support for the outgoing president two months before the presidential election. A right-wing activist since 1979 and a historic Sarkozyist, she assured that this decision had been taken in the interest of the people of Calais. “My position is to want to be useful to the future President of the Republic (…). He still has a lot to accomplish. And I want to participate in it”, she declared.
This Saturday, May 7, she was on the first ring during the inaugural speech of the re-elected president. “Calais needs you”she launched to Emmanuel Macron during a handshake. “I will be there”he replied.
After supporting François Fillon in 2017, Caroline Cayeux left the Republicans in September 2018.
The mayor of Beauvais, approached by several national media to enter the next government, attended the inauguration ceremony of the president, accompanied by college students from Oise.
At his side, the president of the Somme department Jacques Haussoulier also sent his congratulations to Emmanuel Macron.
Also note the presence of Patrice Vergriete, various left mayor of Dunkirk. He too had announced that he would support the outgoing president last February. “The right choice is him.”he had launched to the press.
Among the other political figures from the region present at the Elysée today, Valérie Létard, vice-president of the senate, former minister and departmental councilor for the North based in Valenciennes, the ex-LR Eric Woerth, deputy for Oise and the MEP vAlenciennes Dominique Baert.
