REPORT – D-Day for the Burgundian capital: its International City of Gastronomy and Wine finally opened its doors this Friday. The bet seems successful.

The stakes are high. Six and a half hectares in the heart of the city, in place of the Hôtel-Dieu, and some 250 million euros have been mobilized for this gargantuan project. On the side of the city councilors, the feverishness of a great oral is felt. Because, it is said, here, we are going to taste. No question of just offering table food and virtual ones. The lesson of Lyon – the eldest city which, barely unmolded at the end of 2019, fell like a bellows – was retained. Reversal of the famous adage of Claude Lévi-Strauss: it is not enough that a food is good to think about, it must also be good to eat. Obviousness and common sense, this third place is therefore not only in the scenography of educational ludo, wine and gastronomic exhibitions, moreover very well put together.
