06.05.2022 6:27 | Press Release
The city district of Prague 2 will provide public financial support for the environment for 2022 and the first quarter of 2023 in the form of a special-purpose subsidy in the total amount of CZK 250,000. The council approved the support of nine specific projects at its meeting today.
“We want our citizens and their children to live in a clean, safe and healthy environment. That is why we also invest funds in the renewal and care of greenery every year, we support the use of smart technologies in parks. We also regularly award grants in the field of the environment, which are of great interest to the public. There was a lot to choose from this year as well. Among the submitted projects were also proposals for the establishment of gardens in the courtyards or the establishment of gardens for children, “said the mayor of Prague 2 Alexandra Udženija.
The town hall won a total of nine projects focusing on the renovation and modification of courtyards, the creation and development of community gardens, etc. Thanks to this, there will be a vegetable and herb garden for kindergarten children in Slovenská and Římská Street and .
Some of the projects have repeatedly supported the town hall, such as the revitalization of one of the courtyards in Vinohradská. Already the first stage of the transformation of the yard was very successful and the originally ugly yard became a popular resting place. Thanks to the grants, the courtyards in Sekaninova, Bruselská, Mánesova, Balbínova or Myslíkova streets should also undergo a similar change.
“We are a central part of the city, which is extremely burdened by traffic and the consequences in the form of a deteriorating environment. We are therefore doing our utmost to mitigate these adverse effects. We revitalize parks and public spaces, build new water features, and improve water management in nature. The annual interest of the public in subsidies in the field of the environment only confirms us in the fact that it is a matter of fully spent resources, “adds the Deputy Mayor for the Environment and Territorial Development Václav Vondrášek.
