Photo: Crowds of tourists back in Prague. And with them inflatable virgins, beer competitions and trdelníky
Not so long ago, some people in Prague missed the fact that the city is empty and lifeless due to the pandemic. Now they are tourist back and you can hear the sentence: Was it not better in the end of the pandemic? Prague came to life. When it’s nice, Charles Bridge is full of crowds. An inflatable maiden is rolling in a basket under the bridge tower, and under the astronomical clock you will meet, for example, Snow White and seven dwarves at the bachelor party.
The time when a lone runner ran across Charles Bridge before noon and met a lady walking a dog there is gone. Tourist Prague has woken up again. Especially on nice sunny days or weekends, the historic center is as busy as before the pandemic.
For many people addicted to tourism, this is good news after a long period of hardship. Visitors to the city, who enjoy traveling again after two poor years, radiate well-being. Covid is forgotten, but a pale portrait of Vladimir Putin staring from Lennon’s wall at Kampa reminds us that when one disaster left, another immediately took its place.
We recorded the return of tourists with a camera in hand for several days. Of course, the things that the city already knew also returned with the tourists. For example, groups of young men saying goodbye to their freedom, which attracted the Czech Sea (beers), huge electric tricycles intertwined among the people in the historic alleys, or beer pedal boats, which followed the beer bikes, expelled from the city streets.
You can see what a tourist Prague looks like today, a city full of magic, picturesque streets, trdelníky and unexpected scenes, in the photo gallery.
By the way, everything is photographed typically by tourist technique. The pictures were taken using Samsung Galaxy S20 FE, Xiaomi 12 Pro mobile phones, a small compact Sony RX100 III camera and a light mirrorless camera with a smaller Panasonic Lumix GX8 Micro 4/3 sensor.
