Galaţi is on the borders of the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine. Strategic positioning must be treated as an opportunity to care for both the state and the local business environment.
The Minister of Economy, Florin Spătaru, states that the strategic positioning of Galați, near the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, must be treated as “an opportunity of care both the state and the local business environment must benefit”. “Perhaps now, more than ever, Galati needs investment, so the focus on both attracting European funds and allocating government funds should be directed to the Galati-Braila region,” he said.

He appreciated that the Free Zone and the Industrial Park are two objectives in Galați that can be highlighted through an opportunity management plan, especially since in the area there are railway networks with both European and Soviet gauge. . , which makes it possible to have a direct connection with Ukraine.
“Perhaps now, more than ever, Galati needs investment, so the focus on both attracting European funds and allocating government funds should be directed to the Galati-Brăila region. As Minister of Economy, I can guarantee that the institution he will lead can be a direct partner both to the local authorities and to the business environment in Galati for the development of projects that will add value to the local community “, said Spătaru, during the meeting . with those in charge of the Free Zone Administration and the Industrial Park.
The visit continued at the Liberty Galati Iron and Steel Works and the Damen Shipyard, where the Minister of Economy discussed with those in charge of the companies about the future investment projects.
“I know very well the working capacity of the Damen Shipyard, especially this place where I have been active for over 20 years. That’s why I’d like to believe that we can team up as well, because there could be an opportunity in the future for the site to provide welding services, for example, to the defense industry, given the shortage of staff in this industry. ” he said.
Spătaru visited several production facilities within Liberty Galați, where important investments were made and the areas where new wind and solar energy generation capacities will be implemented, as well as the future technologies for the production of “green steel”.
