Prague – The most important buildings for cyclists this year in the capital will be the underpass of the Mánes Bridge in Klárov in Prague 1 or the modification and extension of the A2 trail. The municipality plans to invest 127 million crowns in the transport of its company Technical Administration of Communications (TSK) this year, which is five million crowns more than was prepared for 2021. The new corridor for cyclists outside the car traffic area will be on route A24 from Průmyslová Street to Jahodnice and thus connect Prague 14 with Prague 10. This year, 245 million crowns have been set aside from the Prague budget for investments in cycling infrastructure. Of this, CZK 127 million is intended for TSK, the rest will be obtained from subsidies of the town hall, which is preparing investments in cycle paths. According to the deputy, the renewal of money intended for city district projects could increase this year. Last year, TSK received CZK 122 million for investments in cycle paths and CZK 79 million for the city district. Since 2019, Prague has invested about one billion crowns in cycling infrastructure through TSK and town halls. The amount according to Scheinherr Square does not include expenses for the construction of footbridges and bridges in the metropolis.
There are over 515 kilometers of marked routes in Prague, of which about 200 kilometers are off the road with cars.
